Chombo Gallery: Accelerator Modeling
(joint work with A. Friedman, D. Grote, R. Ryne, and J.-L. Vay).

Results of a calculation performed using an AMR code for solving Poisson's equation based on a nodal point discretization combined with a Shortley-Weller scheme for treating complex geometries. Shown is the electric field strength on the conducting surfaces of a high-current ion-beam accelerator.

Results of a AMR particle-in-cell calculation. We also used here the nodal-point AMR code to solve Poisson's equation. The electrostatic field induced by the charged particles is shown on the slices.
