During FY01, we met with representatives of the TOPS and PERC ISIC
centers to coordinate the relevant activities of those centers with
those of APDEC. We also completed the following software activities.
- We wrote algorithm and software design documents for a general package for
the unsplit high-order Godunov methods for hyperbolic conservation laws.
This driver implements the algorithm for a large class of systems,
requiring the user to provide only a small amount of physics-dependent
information.
- We wrote algorithm and software design documents for a general package of
Layer 1 and Layer 2 tools for embedded boundary methods, such as data on
unions of rectangles distributed over processors.
- We wrote algorithm and software design documents for AMR embedded boundary
hyperbolic solver based on unsplit Godunov integrator.
- We completed implementation of general Chombo support for periodic boundary
conditions in one or more directions (required to support tokomak
simulations), and applied it to extend
Chombo hyperbolic, elliptic AMR solvers to periodic case.
- We implemented Chombo API's for the PAPI tools for accessing hardware
performance counters.
